Information
Electric vehicles have now entered the workshop environment, meaning that issues with these vehicles are also occurring more frequently. This training has been developed with these experiences in mind. After a brief introduction, you will tackle these issues hands-on, and by the end of the day, you’ll be ready to apply this practical knowledge immediately.
Prerequisites:
To participate in this training, you need at least the foundational knowledge from EV1 and EV2. Ideally, you should have also completed the EV3 and EV4 courses.
Key Points:
- Isolation faults and potential equalization
- Diagnostics on high-voltage systems
- Diagnostics on charging connections
- Structure of EV error codes
- Measuring e-components
Topics
The following topics, among others, are covered during the course:
- A hands-on training where real-world issues are addressed, allowing you to work on cases directly.
- A frequent topic is isolation faults. When repairing, a potential equalization measurement after the repair is essential.
- The HV relays in the battery pack serve multiple functions. By visualizing the relay switching, you can observe how the vehicle handles it.
- Issues occur in the battery pack. You learned much about this in EV4, and in EV5, we will deepen your practical understanding.
- Disconnecting a vehicle from a charging station during an issue.
- Handling a vehicle equipped with a 12-volt lithium-ion battery.
- Operation and diagnostics of charging connections, including both AC charging and DC fast charging.
Assessment:
Following this training, an Ecarr exam will take place.
If the assessment is completed with satisfactory results, you will receive the Ecarr certificate.
